14:35 On the e-Government Recommended Ciphers List
Masahiko Fujimoto, Senior Deputy Director, Standardization Division, Information and Communications Policy Bureau, Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications (CRYPTREC Advisory Committee)
Background information up to the point of publishing the e-government recommended ciphers list and an introduction to the list were given. Moreover, explanations were given concerning the inter-ministerial agreement regarding the usage policies of cryptography and promotion of the use of cryptography in the e-government construction plan.

As a whole, explanations were provided on the cryptographic techniques evaluation activities of the past three years, an overview of the evaluation findings, the significance of the CRYPTREC activities, and coordination with overseas projects. In addition, the necessity of continuing the evaluation of cryptographic techniques as future tasks and CRYPTREC's future activities were explained.
15:25 Report on FY2002 Evaluation of Public-Key Cryptographic Techniques
Tsutomu Matsumoto, Professor, Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences Yokohama National University (Chair, Public-Key Cryptography Subcommittee)
Explanations were provided on the policies, subjects and techniques of detailed evaluation in the Public-Key Cryptography Subcommittee. In addition, explanations were given on the findings of detailed evaluation by classifications of public-key cryptographic techniques, as well as on the idea for the recommended list.
15:55 Report on Evaluation of Symmetric-Key Cryptographic Techniques
Toshinobu Kaneko, Professor, Science University of Tokyo (Chair, Symmetric-Key Cryptography Subcommittee)
Explanations were given on the findings of detailed evaluation by classifications of the symmetric-key cryptographic techniques, as well as on the idea for the recommended list. In addition, an explanation was provided on the evaluation criteria in the Symmetric-Key Cryptography Subcommittee and findings on the evaluation of software implementation were presented.

16:40 Usage of the e-Government Recommended Ciphers List
Ryoichi Sasaki, Professor, Tokyo Denki University(Chair, Working Group for Guidebook of Cryptography Procurement)
Explanations were given on the positioning of the fruits of labor in the activities of the Working Group for Guidebook of Cryptography Procurement, the method of investigation, and details of the record of the outcome. Moreover, explanations were given on the points to keep in mind in implementing multiple cryptographies and cryptography export control.

Explanation was provided on CRYPTREC's future activities and its organization. The explanation included the security monitoring of e-government recommended ciphers and its procedures, the revision of the e-government recommended ciphers list, and some issues on cryptographic module evaluation.
